In the aftermath of the deadly mosque shootings in New Zealand last week, Canadians felt shock and saddness, and joined other countries around the world in standing against Islamophobia.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited a crowd of over 1000 at SNMC Mosque in Barrhaven, Nepean to mourn the lives lost last week, and speak with Muslim residents to share his message that love is always greater than hate. The PM also had an exclusive meeting with young Muslim Canadians.
I'm thankful to Dr. Emdad Khan, Imam Zijad Delic, Raheemuddin Syed, Dr. Asma Amjad, Muhamad Zulfikar Bangash and all the volunteers and community leaders for their help in organizing this visit.
